Two Men Charged After Collision On The Intersection of Young and Dean Streets.

Two men have been charged following two police pursuits in Albury last week.

About 12.30am on Wednesday 25th November, police attempted to stop a white Hyundai hatch, bearing Victorian registration plates, on Crisp Street, Albury.

When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated, before being terminated a short time later for safety reasons.

Shortly after, the car was involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Young and Dean Streets.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, exited the car and approached the driver of the second vehicle, before allegedly assaulting him and fleeing the scene.

The front-seat passenger of the Hyundai received serious spinal injuries and was flown to Melbourne Hospital for treatment.

At about 11.35am on Tuesday December 1, police attempted to stop a silver Nissan Pulsar on Ryan Road, Glenroy.

When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The car continued south on Gap Road before the driver lost control and the vehicle came to rest against a guard rail at the corner of Gap Road and Queen Street.

The 30-year-old male driver and 32-year-old male passenger fled on foot, before being arrested a short distance away and taken to Albury Police Station.

The 30-year-old man was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, larceny, breach of bail, and unlicensed driver.

The 32-year-old man was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, aggravated driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, drive manner dangerous, destroy or damage property, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact cause grievous bodily harm, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, responsible person not disclose drivers details and assault.

Both were refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Wednesday
