Education Department figures for 2019 reveal a major increase in assaults in Albury public schools, resulting in becoming the third most violent school in NSW.

49 assaults were recorded in Albury government schools this year between January 29 and August 31, jumping from 21 recorded in 2018.

34 of these instances involved violence between students, while the other 15 assaults were to teachers.

Wagga recorded the highest violence in NSW at 60 assaults across the year.
