Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that the five day ‘’circuit breaker’’ lockdown in the state will lift from 11:59pm tonight.

”I am very, very pleased to announce that just as we indicated on Friday, this will be a five-day short sharp circuit breaker and the restrictions will come off, almost all of them, at midnight tonight,” he said.

From 11:59 the four reasons to leave home falls away, the 5km travel limit will no longer be in force but mask wearing indoors and outdoors where social distancing can’t be maintained will remain.

Among the other updates, Victorians will be able to have five visitors in their homes, up to 20 people can get together at public gatherings, schools will re-open, sport and recreation activities will resume and people can return to work up to 50% of capacity.
