“The first stage is three buildings, an annex building, a north building featuring 18 luxury apartments, 15 commercial/strata suites and two retail outlets and the rear building is a three level office building, and in between that will sit a beautiful green landscape podium.
“We found that most people like to build on every square inch of a site, but we wanted to give part of the site back to the community.
“Seeing what they’ve done across the road with the old railway station, we wanted to bring that open space environment into our project as well.”
Mr Mooney says Wodonga was chosen ahead of other regional locations for this significant investment.
“We were trailing for regional development opportunities throughout Victoria a couple of years ago,” Mr Mooney said.
“We started down south from Greater Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton and ended up at Wodonga as the last stop on the whistle tour and when we drove into Wodonga we were really taken by the street scape and what the council have done here over the past few years.
“We ended up staying a few days and drilling down a bit further and we decided, yes we really liked what we saw. Being Victoria’s fastest growing regional city, we thought there’s great opportunities on offer there.”
