This has been going on over the last six months where life-saving items have been stolen from the RFS,CFA, and most recently over $20,000 worth of equipment stolen from the SES in Wodonga.

The recent theft occurring at the Mullengandra station means another unit is required from a different RFS station when a motor vehicle accident occurs.

Other locations include Bungowannah, Glenellen, Mulwala-Tarramia and Splitters Creek, where chainsaws, radios, firefighting tools and defibrillators are among some of the many important things stolen.

NSW RFS District Manager Superintendent Patrick Westwood is calling on the general public to help police investigating the crimes to expose the thieves and recover the stolen items.

“We are calling on the community to be vigilant, our members and community have the right to be upset about what is happening, it is directly affecting their safety in the event of a fire or another emergency,” he said.

If you have any information regarding the stolen items please contact Crimestoppers is 1800 333 000.
