A house in East Albury has been raided by federal Police and a man arrested following an investigation by a counter-terrorism taskforce.

The arrest took place Wednesday morning at approximately 8.30.

The agencies said in a joint statement the man is expected to be charged with “terrorism-related offences”

A statement from the AFP alleged investigators first became aware of a number of online posts with an “extreme right-wing ideology that indicated potential criminal activity”.

The man, aged 18 years old, was wearing a hoodie and tracksuit pants as he was handcuffed and escorted to a car.

He is expected to face Albury Local Court once charged, and an application will be made to have the matter heard in a Sydney court at a later date.
