After the car allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated before being terminated at the intersection of Young and Guinea streets when the car allegedly ran a red light and crossed onto the wrong side of the road.
Shortly after, police were alerted to a crash between the car and a Ford Ranger near the intersection of Dean and Young streets.
Police were told the driver and two occupants of the car exited the vehicle and fled the scene. A fourth passenger, a woman aged 23, remained in the vehicle with leg and spinal injuries.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Albury Hospital and later transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for surgery. Her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man aged 55, was taken to Albury Hospital for assessment. He has since been released.
As inquiries continue to identify the driver and occupants of the car, anyone with information or dash cam footage is being urged to contact police.
