Saints And Raiders Snare Signings Before Clearance Deadline

With less that 48 hours remaining before the transfer deadline, clubs and players are getting paperwork and signatures sorted at rapid pace.

The Wodonga Raiders have struck gold, agreeing to terms with former Port Melbourne and GWS NEAFL star Liam Delahunty. Delahunty comes to Birralee Park looking to fill one of the voids as a key backman, after the Raiders lost Mitch Thomas to injury and Tyrell Lui who returned to the NT.

Delahunty currently resides with On-Baller Hayden Clarke in Melbourne and is looking forward to joining the Red and Blue.

Meanwhile, Myrtleford have secured the services on Murray Waite, a former Wangaratta Magpie, who returns to the region after a long stint with West Adelaide in the SANFL.

Waite, a nuggety small type, has played just the one game in the reserve grade for the Alpine Saints and expects to come into senior selection in the weeks to come.

Wangaratta small Ben Bray has transferred to the Picola FNL and it remains unclear whether he will return to the Norm Minns Oval.

Ben Jones, a former young gun from Albury has gone the other way, to link with Dederang Mount Beauty in the TDFL.

As the deadline approaches on the last day in June - we expect a few more names to float onto the transfer sheet.
