Council targeted

$60,000 of tools and gear loaded in council truck and driven away.

Murray River police are on the hunt for two men, who have stolen $60,000 worth of tools from Federation Council's Corowa depot.

Between midnight and 2am on Tuesday, two men have entered the depot yard and taken tools and other works equipment from the vehicles.

They have loaded the equipment into a Mitsubishi tipper truck, owned by the council and driven out of the yard.

Just before noon on Tuesday, the truck was found burnt out at the end of Hawkscote Rd in Thurgoona.

CCTV footage from the yard, shows two men.

The first has a solid build, about 180cm tall, wearing a hoodie, long pants and black Nike runners, with a white tick.

The second man has a medium build, also wearing a hoodie and long pants.

Both men had face coverings and taped gloves to their wrist.

Anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the two men are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
