32% Of Businesses Alter Their Business Model

Business NSW have released the results of their survey showing the impact on Border Business given the tightened closure permit.

Murray Riverina Manager Andrew Cottrill says there has been a massive increase in the number of businesses that have needed to reshape their business model due to the heightened restrictions.

39% of businesses surveyed have remained as they were before the COVID 19 Border Closure with 32% altering their business model due to reduced demand, 23% due to staff inability to travel, 4% have closed due to the closure and 1% have closed prior to the border closure.

The lobby group have called on the Victorian Government to do more to stop the travel of people from Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to our region.
