The new packaging machine is a part of the agriculture workforce plan and will be able to fill 50 cans per minute.
Now Bright Brewery can move away from hiring a freelance packer and costs will come down "which is great for consumers and also means we have complete control over the packaging from start to finish " said Marketing Manager Laura Grey.
"This is vital to our wholesale production and means we can control timings and are able to can our beer whenever we want in the quantity we need to," Ms Grey said.
Bright Brewery employs more than 30 full-time staff across both the 500 seat taproom and restaurant and separate production facility.
The new packaging equipment has makes the business self-reliant in the competitive artisanal beer sector.
“Bright Brewery is a vibrant regional success story that’s become a tourist draw card in its own right – this investment will help them to ensure business sustainability and secure dozens of local jobs," said Minister for Regional Development Mary-Anne Thomas.
Its been a tough time for everyone the last two years especially small business. We are a family owned business so getting this grant funding was really vital," said Ms Grey.
