The Auditor General has found severe deficiencies in V/Line’s regional networks
The Auditor General agrees with North East people, that regional commuters are being let down by the antiquated V/Line services.
The report cites the failure to meet key service criteria, particularly from July 2015 to March this year.
These include punctuality targets and maintenance issues requiring the use of buses on a regular basis.
Vic Nationals Leader Peter Walsh says it confirms what passengers already know
The report is also critical of Public Transport Victoria for failing to monitor V/Line train connections with regional town buses, and remaining unaware of the extent of the problem.
